sister of the infamous Pauly Shore of the popular Comedy Store Family, Los Angeles./.Hollywood, California * . * . * . * . * |
DR: Hi Sandi. I wanted to thank you for this online Interview, As A Reporter, I am trying something new. I think your new Website is Awesome. Tell me about www.sandishore.com, OK? |
SS: I have a vision. I want it to be in real time and interactive. I'm waiting for technology to catch up. |
DR: What ages can work with you on line? |
SS: I'm not quite live on line yet. But I have worked with all ages. Comedy has no limits. |
DR: Do comedy performers need Agents or can they get by without one? |
SS: Having a team behind you that believes in you is important. To be taken seriously you do need an agent. |
DR: Did YOU ever do Comedy for TV or Films? |
SS: I've done several talk shows but never was interested in 'acting'. I can't remember back that far, but I'm sure I did. I remember one time I was in Las Vegas where my father was opening for singer Donna Summer. During one of her songs, she had background dancers. One of the dancers fell ill or something and they replaced her with me. I was wisked into the dressing room and they dressed me in fishnets, striped spandex and stuffed my top. Okay so I winged it and it was a thrill being on stage at the same time as my father and a full house. I pulled it off. I was asked to do the next show and I did. I hit the blackjack tables that night and won big time. It was a night to remember. |
DR: Do you manage talent if you see someone truly awesome? |
SS: I did manage in the past. Heres how it goes... you put your time and energy into someone... then they go somewhere else. You get them good enough where others notice and 'they' think others can do a better job, so off they go... no where. I can't play that game. However if I do believe in someone I'll open whatever doors I can. I don't want anything in return. I'm happy to help. The universe has a way of providing everything I need. |
DR: Now you just wrote for Pageantry Magazine, with a 3.2 Million readership, a Feature Story on your Sand Box. Any Comments and when will it be out? Can talent Email you if they have a question on Comedy? |
SS: August 2000. I had fun writing it. It states that Comedy really has no borders. Email me? Sure, why not? |
DR: I took your Class in Hollywood at the Comedy Store. It was awesome for my Entertainment Reporting. I have to tell you, Sandi. It not only did wonders for my Reporting, but for my Real Life situations & confrontations, too. That is what is truly so very Impressive about the experience. |
SS: It seems
my students undergo profound changes. It's more about self esteem &
confidence which comes after the first performance. Comedy is the hardest
aspect of show business, however I'm working with the general public right
now. I think
the benefits derived from comedy is for everyone. I stay in close contact with some of my students. I like being their ongoing cheerleader, so to speak. |
DR: I have a question. This is important, so people have the right information. I found a site offering Email addresses for the Stars. I saw your brother Pauly listed there. Is that site for real and does he read his Email? |
SS: I'm sure he reads his mail. He travels a lot, so I don't know how often he gets to it. As far as the site goes, its new to me. I'm sure whoever is at the other end of it is doing their best to get the right information to the public. Many celebrities do have people work for them to handle all the PR, especially emails. |
DR: I saw you doing a radio show recently. Tell us about it. |
SS: I did a radio show here in Seattle on the Buzz 100.7 FM with Bob Sagot. I was a guest. Radio is my favorite media forum and I'd like to do more shows in the near future. So I'm working on that. |
DR: Sandi, will you ever have a Special Workshop back in Hollywood at the Comedy Store? If so where and when? |
SS: I just relocated to Seattle so I'm concentrating my energies in the Pacific Northwest, for now. I haven't made any plans for a trip back to LA. So no workshops in Hollywood for right now. |
DR: Can you tell everyone about talent that you've worked with you and some that really stand out in your mind now? |
SS: Sandi will answer this question in her next email, as Dawn just asked her this one today. |
DR: I'm so happy I told Griff O'Neil about you for the World Championships. You were honored with the Best Comedy Coach Award. Having you, your brother, and father present truly brought Special Magic to that production. Then seeing you at the Pre Grammy Party last year was quite a thrill again! |
SS: Yes, I knew right away that Dawn had something to do with this Pre-Grammy Party, as I saw all these Pageant Gals & spectacular Crowns shortly after walking into Vonny's Party. You had the invitation sent to me. |
DR: You're so right. I hope to see you next year again, as I will bring many Casting & Talent Agents into the Press Room to witness the incredible Youth Talent Showcase we are doing for Vonny's Honored Guests. There's a certain someone who is so determined to get the production Televised. We'll keep you posted on that. |
SS: Sounds like a winner to me, Dawn! |
DR: Sandi, its such a pleasure talking to you. Good Luck with your new site. It's awesome! I hope to brush up on comedy with you, so see you on www.sandishore.com. Is there anything from the Heart you'd like to tell talent? |
SS: Whatever your dreams are, GO FOR IT! |
DR: GO FOR IT is so right. Thank you, Sandi. |
SS: Thanks, Dawn! See you around somewhere holding a microphone! |
DR: Until next time, this is Dawn Reese. Reporting from Dawn 'til Dusk, simply because that's me! That is why I call myself The Winning Edge. Pageant Gals really need to bring Headshots and Demos to Pageants. Not leave them at home. This is so Important. If anyone is interested in the Demo Tape of the World Championships of Performing Arts, send $5 for postage. I can send it to you, and you will see this Awesome Event In Hollywood, California.
